  要: 佛教来到中国,必不可免地要部分改变自身的形态,以求发展。佛教中国化,其关键之一,即是如何处理与儒家意识形态的关系。本文选择了《牟子理惑论》、庐山慧远《沙门不敬王者论》和禅宗三个典型,具体分析在不同的历史阶段,中国佛教回应时代、处理同儒佛关系的三种不同模式。

Tree Patterns of the Relationship between Confucianism and Buddhism in the History of Chinese Buddhism

Abstract: When Buddhism was introduced into China, it had to change its appearances in order to be adapted in Chinese culture. The most important thing was to appease the conflicts between Confucianism and Buddhism. From this point of view, Master Mou Dispelling Doubts (《牟子理惑论》), Treatise on the Sramana Not Having to Bow to the Ruler (《沙门不敬王者论》) and Zen are three typical cases in Chinese Buddhism history. This paper attempts to do some text examinations and comments to delineate the different patterns in the history of Chinese Buddhism.
