摘 要：卡尔·皮尔逊是英国著名的哲人科学家（应用数学家和统计学家）和百科全书式的学者。青年皮尔逊在德国漫游时期接触了拉萨尔、马克思、恩格斯等人的著作，从而成为一位社会主义者。他就社会主义和妇女问题等做过诸多研究，经常在学术团体和工人俱乐部发表讲演。他的有关思想不仅具有历史的、文献的、学术的价值，而且至今还有某种现实的启迪和批判意义。
